It is that time of year. Many young men are winding down their final days as a college senior and playing their final games as a college athlete. Some will go on to sign with agents and begin their pursuit of playing football professionally at the next level. Some won't have representation and will still be determined to see if they have what it takes to play at the next level and make it as a "Long Shot". Many of the athletes who have had the chance to play well, and stay healthy will go on to play in an ALL-Star game or two, maybe the East vs. West Shrine game maybe the Senior Bowl. A few will recieve an invite to the NFL Combine and many will have a pro day scheduled out for their school some time in the spring. There are many young men with their futures uncertain that range from the SEC to the Big Sky Conference and even down into D2 and D3 levels that will spend the next 3 months training for the biggest day of their lives. Some will have intentions to earn millions based on their performance and most will hope that a great performance will simply give them an opportunity to play or even practice on the world's largest stage. No matter where these atheltes will come from, or what their chances of being drafted or signed are.....it all begins with their training.
At Apex we offer a service to help prepare and train these young men for the biggest job interview they will ever have in their lives. We demand that our athletes approach each day like a professional and that each day is treated as though it is in fact gameday. We help to harness their focus and energy in being the most dedicated athlete they can be. We will develop their linear speed, agility, power, coordination, balance, flexibility, strength, endurance and reaction. The purpose of the training will be to help the athletes accel in:
- 40 yard dash
- 20 yard shuttle (pro agility)
- 3 cone drill
- Vertical Jump
- Broad Jump
- Bench Press (225 max reps)
- 60 yard shuttle
- Field drills (Varying position to position)

I have had the opportunity to help a few athletes get an opportunity to be drafted or signed into the NFL and gain an chance to live out their dream. There is no greater reward than to watch a young man transform over 3 months and persevere through some of the hardest training they have ever experienced in order to meet their goal. At this point, it is not just a game....it is a business and the athletes that leave Apex to begin their career as an NFL/ CFL or even Arena football players understand that you practice how you play, everyday.
