New Days for the 9 am class and a word about being Skinny Fat

Joliebeforecrossfit_2 Jolieafter1yearofcf
The above before and after pics are of Jolie Gentry from Crossfit One World in California.  They're from an interview with Jolie in the January Crossfit Journal.  Jolie is the 2007 Crossfit Games female champion and is a police officer near San Francisco.

Are all skinny people fit?  It's possible to have the genetics to be predisposed to be lean but still be weak, unhealthy, and out of shape.  So no, you can be skinny and still have muscles that feel like bags of water.  We call this being "skinny fat."  You might look better in a pair of jeans but when it comes to anything in life that demands strength (pretty much everything) you're not going to cut it.  As a society we seem to idolize women who look like children with fake boobs tacked on and it's refreshing that in Crossfit we look up to strong powerful women with real physiques who can often kick our butt.  Want to see Jolie in action?  Check out these videos of her taking on a Crossfit male and then come try the same WOD today.
